Sentinel Check / Ghost Protocol
MODULE 14

App Permissions Audit

Most apps have more access than they need. Review permissions and revoke anything unnecessary.

0/16 done
A flashlight app with microphone access. A game with your contacts. A weather app tracking your location 24/7. Apps routinely request permissions they don't need: and sell the data they collect.

The Most Dangerous Permissions

HIGH RISK
  • 📍 Location (always): tracks you 24/7, sold to data brokers
  • 🎤 Microphone: can record audio at any time if app is malicious
  • 📷 Camera: can take photos/video without visual indicator in some cases
  • 👥 Contacts: harvests your entire social graph
MEDIUM RISK
  • 📅 Calendar: reveals your schedule, employers, travel
  • 💬 SMS access: reads all your text messages
  • 📁 Storage (full): reads all your files and photos
  • 📱 Phone state: reads call logs and IMEI
RULE OF THUMB

Ask: does this app genuinely need this permission to function?

A navigation app needs location. A calculator does not. A camera app needs camera. A flashlight does not. Deny anything that doesn't make functional sense.
